PC | An IBM compatible Pentium 350. Pentium 900 or better is recommended with 32 mb ram (64 mb is recommended). |

Laser printer or dot matrix. An ink jet printer is
not recommended on a front desk.** Please note: The
HP Laserjet 1012 is not recommended for use with Five
Star software.

Power Supply | The server must have an uninterruptible power supply (the American Power Corp base model about $175 is recommended) and each workstation must have an excellent surge protector (the APC model is recommended, about $30). |

Backup unit | ZIP drive. Five Star data compresses 10:1, and 100 room properties use 250 mb disk storage per year, so your data will fit for 10 years on a single zip disk. Tape & Cd rom are not as reliable or easy to use. |

Server | Same as workstation, but with minimum 128 mb ram, 20 gb hard disk, UPS and a backup device. |
