Touch Screen Point of Sale Module
Back to the menu.
Five Star Hotel Systems Point of Sale Module automates and integrates your dining room, lounge, gift shop and pro shop like no other point of sale system can. It is a touch screen based system designed specifically for restaurants and shops in hotels & resorts, so it has many features you cannot get in any system designed for independent restaurants. Computer based touch screen technology makes Five Star the easiest to use and one of the lowest cost systems too.
Key Benefits
- Touch screen system makes learning almost automatic. Most staff are fully versed in under 2 hours.
- Fully integrated to the Five Star Front Desk Module, so room charges are posted to guest folios as soon as a check is closed and in addition, all checks, even cash, Visa, MC etc. flow through the Front Desk Module, so your Daily Revenue Report includes 100% (i.e. ALL!) the revenue activities of the property. And if you have the Five Star Back Office Module, or if you post the entry from the Night Audit Charges & G/L Update Report, your General Ledger has all the revenue activities daily too. Financial statements are accurate on the revenue side as of last night! No more long waits while the accountant gets caught up.
- From any desk that has Five Star and security clearance, you can see detailed or top down reports of the activities in the dining room, etc., AS THEY HAPPEN, for real time management not management when it’s too late. And right from your own desk you can set up new menu items, sales products, etc. With stand-alone dining room systems you have to go to a dining room station to use the system.
- Looks and feels like all the rest of the Five Star series of Modules so learning is much easier.
Key Features
- Floor plan layout design feature for dining room & bar.
- Super easy ‘plain language’ screen for sales items and menu setup.
- Sends orders to kitchen, bar, etc., automatically to save steps and eliminate employee theft.
- Ultra fast bar setup for cash bars can process a drink paid by cash in just two touches!
- Package plan button properly handles meals covered by package plans for correct guest checks and correct sales reporting and accounting.
- Simple end of shift procedures ensure correct deposits and balancing every day.
- Designed to work perfectly in the gift shop, pro shop, cash bar, & banquet hall too.
Hardware You Will Need
Plan to have one POS station for each existing cash register or POS station. Each will consist of a computer (Pentium 300 or faster), connected to your existing network, a 15” touch screen with ELOGraphic (brand name) touch screen drivers and a parallel cable roll printer. We suggest the Epson TM88 thermal in a dining room since they are noiseless. Use an Epson parallel cable impact style Station Printer in the bar where the noise doesn’t matter. The kitchen order printer can be the same. (Not needed of course for gift shop or pro shop applications.) The kitchen and bar printers, since they are shared, must be connected via a print server (e.g. Lexmark, Dlink, HP Jet Direct etc.) so there will need to be a network connection to these areas.
